Riverside County, Los Angeles County and San Bernardino Domestic Violence Lawyers
We Represent Either Party in Domestic Violence Matters
We handle civil harassment issues of domestic violence and can help parties petition for or contest a restraining order. These orders are sought under a speedy process and whether you are the petitioner or respondent, you have important rights that need to be protected.
At Cristiano & Lillard, we can represent either party in a civil domestic violence case. If requested or necessary, we will make referrals to family counseling or anger management counseling. Contact either of our offices in Covina or Temecula to speak with an attorney.
We Can Represent the Petitioner
The petitioner is the person asking the court for protection from the abuser. Our attorneys will:
- Attend an emergency ex parte hearing with the client
- Attend the hearing on the domestic violence temporary restraining order with the client
- Represent the client at the good cause hearing for renewal of the order in three to five years, depending on the length of the original order
Our goal is to protect the petitioner and any children involved.
We Can Represent the Respondent
The respondent is the party contesting the restraining order. We use our experience and skilled representation, and will:
- Attend the hearing on the domestic violence temporary restraining order with the client
- Refer any related criminal charges to an experienced criminal defense attorney
- Represent the client at the good cause hearing for renewal of the order in three to five years, depending on the length of the original order
Our goal is to preserve the respondent's interests and liberties through a denial of the petition or settlement of the matter.
